Sporting Trial Rules
The rules require two crew, a driver and a "bouncer". The bouncers job is not only to help the driver to navigate but also help maintain traction by moving their body weight to the appropriate position within the seating compartment of the car and often preventing the cars from overturning.

PIC Notes: The Bouncer plays a important part in maintaining traction and preventing the car from over turning at times, and also directing the driver.

PIC Notes: Drivers as young as 12 years are permitted to compete as long as the bouncer is at least 17 years of age.
The object is to drive your car through the section without stopping, hitting marker pegs or traveling out side the section boundaries. Once any of these penalties have been incurred the competitor is marked according to the numbered peg in front of them and must retire from the section until the next round and proceed to the next section. The further you get in the sections the less points you loose. The points are accumulated during the competition and the crew with the least points lost at the end the Trial is declared the winner and so on down the list.

PIC Notes: Notice the right hand remains on the side brake levers all the time. By applying braking to either rear wheel at the correct time prevents wheelspin and they also help with steering, keeping the car on the course. This car has passed the #3 marker... And if it were to stop now the competitor would loose 2 points as that is the peg in front of them. Had the car hit #3 peg 3 points would be lost.
